Changing from iPhone, iCloud alternative

Ive just bought a htc one, always used iPhone. I also own a macbook so its strange having an android. iCloud synced all my safari bookmarks, contacts and notes....these are 3 things I would like to sync with my htc one...

Is this still possible with htc one....?

Using your google gmail account you can sync contacts, calender, notes etc...
Dropbox is a second option to upload files...

Yea, dropbox seems to be the one for me. Heard it was quite good but since Ive always had a mac and an iPhone, iCloud was always first choice...

Bookmarks seem to be the hard bit for me, i can do everything else. This guide shows how to do bookmarks between mac and mac but how do I sync bookmarks between a mac and htc one....
