free sms messaging

I am looking for a way to send sms messages from my pc to mobile phones... I have tried using a service called O2 but they require my mobile number and when I send a message my mobile number is also included in the message... Now this defeats the object.. I f I wanted my mobile number openly displayed I would just send it via my mobile 4ne for the small cost of a few pence..

any one got any ideas... I have been sent sms via icq but i cannot for the life of me get it to work for me.....

yep u-boot.com...i used it a while ago.
I have a lot german sites for sending free sms...but i guess it would not work for you.
