Glastonbury chiefs have confirmed that the festival will not take place in 2026.

The decision has been made to allow for a fallow year to "give the land a rest", according to organiser Emily Eavis.

This means that after the festival concludes next year, fans will have to wait two years for its return.

Organiser Emily Eavis, 44, daughter of founder Michael Eavis, 88, told The Sun: "[It will] give the land a rest. The festival before a fallow year is always a fun one to plan, because you almost have to fit two years into one." She added: "We're already in talks with some acts for it. It's exciting!"
