with these settings it reboots.
so i tried to change the vci number to 34 it didnt reboot
then 35 didnt reboot
upto 37 all didnt reboot .then as soon as i put the magic 38 that my isp gave me it yes you got it it rebooted.
what have i done wrong?
why would 34-37 be ok but then 38 is not please help its not fair that i keep asking DA i tkink she is getting fed up with me

LOL

thank you in advance

A VPI identifies a unidirectional transport of ATM cells belonging to a bundle of virtual channels
A VCI describes a unidirectional transport of ATM cells
8 bits for VPI and 16 bits for VCI (at the UNI) are used for routing purposes
Assignment of VPI/VCI is done by:
The network
The user
Negotiation between the user and network (signalling)
Standardization (Preassigned VCI/VPI values e.g., unassigned cell, etc.)

you can only use this settings:

What should VPI/VCIbe set as?
VPI/VCI tells you how the modem is setting up the
connection. They are unique to the UK DSL rollout.
VPI should be set to 0
VCI should be set to 38

I have never worked with an USB internet card....so i dont know about VCI/VPI.

Email them for help.

they have also got a helpdesk: http://www.fairadsl.co.uk/cgi-bin/pdesk.cgi
