Firestick stuck in a boot loop

I'm posting on behalf of an old guy I know. He's not local to me so I can't hands on it, basically his 4k stick is in a boot loop.

I've read up and told him all the solutions off the net which he tried including changing the power supply and cable with his daughter's but it the same.
I then read a tutorial but it's about doing stuff while the sticks on. Why tf would I be reading up, I'd simply factory reset.
Is there anyway to force it update or force a factory reset ?
