Hello All

New on here. but had my Duo2 a little while now
so, know a bit about satellite

Had the dreaded white light on the front of receiver
Stuck in standby
now it won't work at all

looked at the power supply
and two of the caps are bulging slightly

tried to find another one on the net

but no joy

and i don't know anybody who could fix the caps for me

does anyone know

where i could get this done or replaced ??

Its a good idea anyone with basic soldering skills can do this, phone guys have more than enough skill.

Source the caps yourself off ebay walk in to a phone shop and show em.

To add a pic use the attach file option bottom left hand side of the the reply box.

Not sure youll have it been new.

It should have values wrote on the caps.

Reason I suggested phone repair shops is that they are probably the ones you will find on high streets. Not as if we have TV repair shops on high streets any more.

Personally, I would replace all of the capacitors on the secondary side.

you seem to know exactly what i want doing .
but i dont understand what you mean about the secondary side
are you very good with the soldering iron and caps
or am i wrong

Are you very good with the soldering iron and caps
I am OK. The power supply has the main side with the 230v. The secondary side has the reduced voltages. That is three more capacitors, if my web search is correct. However, choice is yours.

Below is a link to where someone has changed the two which I presume are same as yours.

Can you not see the attach files button? Post 11 shows where you should see it.

After i opend the box i saw the swelled capacitors (C8/C9) on the power supply.

This are two 25V 1500µF capacitors.

If you want to buy it somewhere else, look for a “low ESR” version
